About Us

What is your best age ever? Has it already happened, going on now, or about to happen?

Relish the freedoms life offers in the middle: more time, more money, and an opportunity to put ourselves back on the list of our lives. Take time to make our lives a priority because you cannot give to others what you do not already have.

Join in the conversation and the fun! Share your ideas, knowledge and questions. Each life enriches another – and yours matters more than you know to others around you. Rediscover who you are, live your dream now -right where you are – and share it with the world.

Redefine the journey and share it with others. That’s what best age ever is all about.

Who We Are

Barbara Eilert, Founder

Barbara Eilert, founder of Best Age Ever

I thought of best age ever in response to the oh so many advertisers out there with “anti-age” this and “fight age” that. Like turning 40 or 50 means “Turn back the clock! Erase yourself – at least the wrinkles.”

Now I am all about everyone looking like their most fabulous self, and not above using whatever cream in a jar to keep my youthful face as long as I can. But I like who I am today. And I want that to be my best – to feel my best and look my best.

After many conversations with friends, the idea of best age ever took shape. A place for tips, conversations, answers to new questions and to share our insights. To redefine what this age means, in a way that we enjoy. Just like sharing with friends through all of our lives. A place for women, who, like me, are more than a little tired of other generations telling us who we are and getting it way, way wrong. (Who are those geriatric folks that look like our parents in the ads anyway?)

So, I took my skills from a career in sales and marketing, and with a team that enthusiastically embraced the energy of best age ever, launched best age ever for everyone to enjoy. And I sincerely hope you do enjoy – and help us create best age ever for a long time to come.

Karen Mack, Writer, Mother, Affiliate Advisor and Idea Originator

Karen Mack with Best Age Ever“The glass is half full” describes the type of person I am.  I try to see the positive in every situation, and love being involved. It energizes me when I contribute ideas and help create something good.

My family is always my first priority.  Being married with children doesn’t mean I’ve lost my identity – I’ve only enriched it! My own story is constantly evolving. I am comfortable with who I am today and welcome each new chapter of my life.

My personal style is casual hip. I love hats – the funkier the better. Plus they protect my skin. : )

I love being a mother and wife, writer, idea originator and style guide. And yes, I love very good bargains on great stuff that works!

Peggy Barring, Content and Affiliate Advisor

Peggy Barring“A million things around me, and it is all under control.” With three very active children I am constantly on the run. My style is current classic casual. With so many hours on the baseball fields, football stands and basketball courts, my wardrobe needs to be comfortable, adaptable to temperatures changing and still look “put together” when I stop for a meeting. I like to mix color with solids, and wear a few well-chosen pieces of jewelry or a great bag to finish an outfit.

A perfect day for me is with my family. Although I admit, I love my “girls time out” and book club to balance out for some “me” time. : )

Technology helps me keep in touch, and I love corresponding with friends online. The best part of this age is the confidence from knowing I can do anything I put my mind to.

Tad Pedley, Market research, therapeutic expert and wise counsel

Tad comes to Best Age Ever as a mental health practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience in various settings. His therapeutic approach is to help others examine their situations and address them in a realistic, responsible, and practical manner.  In sessions he tries to use everyday analogies that people can relate to. It is this approach that his students have frequently noted as an asset.

Away from work, Tad enjoys spending time with his wife, playing and watching sports, collecting baseball memorabilia, cooking, movies, and comedy (though his wife has told him not to give up his day job).

Although he is one of our “x-deficient” staffers (as he puts it), he “gets” our vision and mission. We look forward to his articles, moderating our discussion boards, as well as his input to your questions regarding issues related to mental health, relationship, and other matters that might be holding you back from actualizing your Best Age Ever.
